The Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSCEP) is seeking a (ABO) board certified or board eligible Optometric Glaucoma Specialist with a strong interest in an academic career. The candidate should be comfortable seeing medical based optometry, teaching residents, medical students, as well as pursing research and other scholarly activities. Enjoy a large, healthy referral network with great pathology. The position is a full-time appointment at TTUHSC-EP and the salary is competitive with incentive structure.
TTUHSC-EP is one of five independent universities in the Texas Tech University System. The Health Sciences Center consists of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso is the region’s largest multispecialty medical group practice, with over 250 specialists and subspecialists. TTUHSCEP is building a $97 million comprehensive cancer center planned for the Medical Center of the Americas campus. The Optometrist will have a large, healthy referral network from a catchment area of 1.3M individuals in far west Texas and southern New Mexico.
El Paso is the 6th most populous city in Texas and the 22nd in the United States.
