Description

Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions including routine eye examinations within your scope of licensure.  Work with physicians and practice manager for the planning, coordinating and administration of the business of the practice.

• Perform complete vision exams as needed on scheduled patients.
• Provide services for patients as needed in a manner and at a rate that maintains both the physician's schedule and the highest standard of quality.
• Provide minor office work-in emergencies.
• Provide patient education about eye care and diseases.
• Provide patient education about products and materials available in our optical dispensary to encourage high utilization by our patients.
• Document all services provided, glasses and contact lens prescriptions and recommendations to patients.
• Provide contact lens services required by patients in the practice including contact lens fittings and refits for soft and Toric lenses.
• Maintain positive and loyal relationships among referring specialists, actively solicits and resolves areas of concern and provides appropriate training and coordination assistance for referring offices.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) Degree
• Valid state license to practice optometry in the state of Louisiana.
• Must be proficient in prisms and muscle imbalances.
• Experience in conducting comprehensive eye exams and diagnosing eye conditions.
• Ability to provide accurate and precise diagnoses.
• Expected to be proficient in soft contact lenses.
